blog on health and fitness i am doing well with my fitness program so far, I’ve lost about 15 kilos and it has helped me keep the weight off for now! My fitness is more of an “every day routine” which makes sense because I work out a lot but only at least three times per week. Of course, there are other challenges that we will face as individuals and that’s why I put together these blog posts for you. These are some of the topics that I want to cover in this post:

What is healthy? The most common word used in our society today is “healthy” which may be misleading, when it comes to what a healthy person is, it’s too simplistic. A healthy person can have any number of diseases – not the same diseases as chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease etc. There are many types of illnesses, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social – all can make a strong impact on your life, even though they don’t always come from one or two things. To become a successful person at anything takes time, effort and consistency.

 So it’s important to know the difference between being fat and being unhealthy. How much does obesity affect your cholesterol levels? We have heard this before, it really does matter! Being overweight or obese can reduce HDL (good) cholesterol levels and increase LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, this decrease in HDL can increase your risk for getting type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. What is the right body mass index? BMI, Body Mass Index, takes into account both height and weight. It is also important knowing a person’s age.

 Is stress the key to obesity? While stress is a big part of life for everyone – especially when you are young, it can take a serious toll on a person’s health. Stress can affect your ability to feel positive emotions. How often should you exercise? You’re supposed to exercise at least thirty minutes every day for 30 days. Staying active releases endorphins, the brain’s natural way of relieving pain and increases alertness. What is aerobic exercise? Aerobic exercise is when you get the cardiovascular system moving. For example; running, jumping rope, dancing, cycling, walking, jogging or climbing stairs. What is muscle group? Muscles are made up of a variety of different types of cells that are organized into fascia – fascia, connective tissue, muscle fibers. Muscle groups also differ in size, shape, strength and function. Think muscles vs. body parts.

 Do you have fast metabolism, or does your metabolism slow down? If it seems like your metabolism isn’t slowing down as it should, then it might be causing digestive problems, unexplained nausea or difficulty breathing. Having fast metabolism is good for our hearts, our mind and our immune systems. Are you sure that you want to lose weight? I was told by my family that I shouldn’t care what others think of me because they didn’t, even though they were wrong. Yes you can lose weight and stay happy just fine.

To start off with, I want to talk about how people talk about dieting, it’s kind of embarrassing if someone talks about losing weight without actually doing it. That’s why I’m writing this post on here, but also to help those who are thinking of starting an actual diet on themselves. There is no diet that will make you skinny or thin so how many foods should someone try? If your metabolism slows down, does it mean that you are not able to burn calories? No! You just need to add more oxygen to your blood for it to run faster.

 Your body burns energy through anaerobic metabolism too so you don’t have to worry about losing an extra pound of fat. Let me show you why this works so well: When I eat a lot of carbohydrates, water instead of protein for example, it slows the rate at which my body burns calories so I don’t have to track calories and get angry at myself when someone else looks at pictures of me and says something like “you look tired and you need to lose weight!” I lose weight quickly when I eat a lot of carbohydrates. Isn’t it funny how we hear “lose 10 pounds in 8 weeks” so many times but we never go through with it? Well they also say that weight loss happens so fast and so quick that it doesn’t even take a month or three months. Another interesting thing that you don’t want to talk about is the fact that we are conditioned to think that if we diet we will get skinny. But the truth is, it doesn’t work like that. Most of us gain nothing and if your metabolism is working properly it will slowly start adding muscle as you lose inches over time.
